On the morning of September 17, 2013, an FHS student reported being followed by a large white four-door car (possibly a Crown Victoria) by a white man in his 50s wearing a dark blue shirt. He had gray hair and blue eyes.

We have conducted a preliminary investigation which lends some credibility to the allegation. I have requested that the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office review our preliminary investigation and to conduct a formal voter registration fraud investigation if warranted.

After being assisted by officers from other jurisdictions (Hazel Park, Pleasant Ridge, and Michigan State Police) officers arrested the third suspect (Davis) after they found him sitting and pretending to be reading a newspaper on the front porch of a house on E. Cambourne.

Cissell was arraigned at the 45B District Court before Judge Friedman Appel on Sept. 11. His bond was set at $50,000 cash on five felony counts of delivery/manufacture of marijuana.

The charges had been dismissed, but Oakland County Clerk Jessica Cooper appealed. The Court of Appeals issued their determination Sept. 10, reinstating charges and sending the case back to the Circuit Court level. Charges are related to possession and intent to distribute marijuana.

Two different bars in Ferndale have been attacked by thieves three times in three days during the late night / early morning hours.
The Orchid bar on W. 9 Mile was victimized on Sept. 6th and 9th. Como’s Bar / Restaurant was attacked on Sept. 9th.

Ferndale Detective Brendan Moore is the finalist in a National Anthem Singing Contest being held by Comerica Bank, with a chance to sing in front of an upcoming Detroit Tiger’s Game.
The prize also includes a Ticket package and a $10,000 grant for the Ferndale Police if Moore wins.

The witness described the driver as a white female in her 20s or 30s who appeared to be intoxicated. The vehicle was said to be a gold-colored Buick Century or a similar model that now has quite a bit of damage to the front of it.

Dripping in sweat beneath body armor and masks, police from several cities moved deftly in tight formation through Jefferson Middle School in Pontiac, with guns drawn and eyes wide open. Following the sounds of a shotgun blast, they coordinated to clear the hallways and classrooms until they found their gunman hiding in a room with a chalkboard and empty desks. Back and forth gunfire ensured until the shooter, Ferndale Sgt. Dan Simon, fell to the floor.

The officer retrieved a Taser from the woman’s purse. The weapon was disguised as a pink colored cell phone. The officer also determined that Boles’ driver license was suspended. She was arrested.

Offenders who participate in mental health courts have serious and persistent mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychosis, or severe depression. The programs include treatment and drug testing, help with enrolling in classes and certificate programs, and assistance with pursuing a job, with close supervision by a judge, Schmucker said.

On Saturday a 50 year old Ferndale man was arrested after he allegedly hit a pedestrian with his bike, used a racial slur, pulled down his pants, grabbed his penis, and shouted obscenities at the crowd.

City Council gathered for a special meeting on Monday evening, July 29th to award the bid for the renovation of the 43rd District Court building and the Ferndale Police Station. The Dailey Company, a commercial contractor from Lake Orion, Michigan has been selected

If passed, the ordinance would reduce possession from a misdemeanor to a civil infraction in the city, and removes the requirement of fines, which can be up to $1,000 and up to a year in jail. The ordinance would apply to adults 21 and over, and only for marijuana in amounts of one ounce or less on private property.
