2013 Rib Burn Off Rocks the Big Tent (video)

The Annual Rib Burn Off took place Feb. 2 with well over 1,000 people making their way to the big heated tent set up behind Dino’s Lounge. The event raised money for Ferndale Youth Assistance and Michigan AIDS Coalition. Eight teams of local business people competed for the hearts and taste buds of the crowd, serving up their own style of meaty BBQ ribs. FernCare’s Resources for Low Income Healthcare

Currently the Ferndale-based free health clinic is operating at capacity and is not accepting new clients at this time. The Road to Denver, a Letter from the Publisher

In April 2013 there is a National Conference for Media Reform in Denver, where advocates for ethical journalism will gather to learn about issues affecting our profession. I am hoping to raise enough money to go to this conference, and bring whatever I learn back to Michigan, and to Ferndale.

2012 was an exciting year for The Ferndale 115 News. In June we broke our record for readership, attracting over 10,000 unique visitors to the website. In December our count for the month was 26,142.
