Our goal is to Inform, Inspire & Unite

New Stories Posted on the 1st and 15th of the month (maybe some updates in between), hence the “one-fifteen” name.

Our motivation is to share the stories of our city and prove that community news does not have to be sensationalized.  That newspapers do not have to be driven by a corporate model to survive. And that media can be used, not just to sell people things and for political power, but truly for education and encouraging people to be happy and involved with the world and communities.

The One-Fifteen has a simple layout, like a newspaper on your screen, with easy to navigate sections at the top of the page.  Sponsored businesses can have efficient, non-overwhelming ads placed in stories and a link along the right sidebar of every page, with simple sponsorship plans.

The Ferndale 115 News deserves your support. We are committed to doing stories that are ethical and informative.  We are committed to promoting Ferndale outside of the city. We are doing this because it is our passion. We believe in independent community news and we believe that should be supported by you.

Please give your support.

There is a donation button for donations of any size. And we accept business sponsorships at a low cost.

Editor & Publisher Crystal A. Proxmire grew up on Orchard Street in Ferndale.  Her family owned the Ferndale greenhouses and her grandfather retired out of DPW. She went to Hazel Park Schools, got her degree from Grand Valley and came back to bring her ideas and experiments in community news home. She began doing online news in 2005 and since that time has focused on creating a sustainable, grassroots online news model.  You have a choice in where you get your news, and we hope you will support, with your dollars & readership, for the Ferndale gal who really cares about what kind of news her city has.  Write to editor@ferndale115.com for more info!
