Ferndale Summer Camp Director:
Qualifications: The Ferndale Recreation Department is recruiting for the position of Summer Day Camp Director to oversee the department’s state licensed summer day camp program for children ages 5-12. Applicants must be self-motivated, energetic, dependable, creative, quick thinker and have a love for children. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older, possess a valid CPR and First Aid certification, possess a valid driver’s license, must have a minimum of 8 weeks working in a day camp setting and a minimum of 4 weeks administrative experience in a day camp or similar setting
The Day Camp Director is responsible for all aspects of the development, planning and implementation of the summer day camp program for children ages 5-12. The Director is responsible for training and day to day supervision of camp counselors; ensures that staff members comply with policies and procedures and uses disciplinary actions when necessary; ensures compliance with state license regulations; maintains a safe and
secure environment for all staff members and participants; organizes and maintains daily paperwork, timecards and incidents and performs other duties as assigned.

Ferndale Summer Camp Counselors:
Qualifications: The Ferndale Recreation Department is recruiting for the position of Summer Day Camp Counselors to assist the Camp Director in the planning and implementation of the department’s state licensed summer day camp program for children ages 5-12. Applicants must be self-motivated, energetic, dependable, creative, quick thinker and have a love for children. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, possess a valid CPR and First Aid certification, possess a valid driver’s license, must have a minimum of 4 weeks working in a day camp setting or similar setting.
Summer Day Camp Counselors are responsible for assisting the Director with all aspects of the development,
planning and implementation of the summer day camp program for children ages 5-12. Counselors are responsible for day to day supervision of campers; counselors demonstrate, instruct and lead camp activities on a daily basis including; crafts, games, sports, etc; counselors assist with daily set-up and clean-up; counselors use appropriate disciplinary techniques with participants and logs all accidents; counselors maintain a safe and secure environment for all participants and perform other duties as assigned.
