Library Welcomes Adrianne Gilmore to BoardFerndale Reads Ad copy

On February 21, 2013 at their regular monthly meeting, the Ferndale Library Board selected Adrienne M. Gilmore to fill the seat vacated by Jim O’Donnell, who resigned in December. Ms. Gilmore will serve until the general election in November 2013.

Board President Pat Dengate says, “On behalf of the entire Board, I welcome Ms. Gilmore as an appointed trustee. We are looking forward to working with her and benefiting from her experience as an educator and thank_you_201303rs01_francine_hachemadvocate of literacy. Her skills as a collaborator in her professional life will help keep the Ferndale Public Library the vital and relevant member of the larger community it always strives to be.”

Ms. Gilmore “is thrilled to be appointed to the Ferndale Library Board of Trustees.  The Ferndale library strengthens our community as it is a thriving hub of culture, diversity and entertainment.  I look forward to contributing to the work of the library as we continue to enrich our fabulous city.

Adrienne Gilmore is a 14-year resident of the city, and is a professional educator in the Birmingham Public School system. She will be sworn in by the city clerk on February 27 and will officially join the Board at its March 21, 2013 monthly meeting.
