Grief counselors were available at University High School on Friday and Monday for students who learned of the death of 17 year old Sammuel Lee, a senior at the school.

According to The Detroit News, Lee was in his Highland Park home when his older brother (who is either 23 or 34) was “playing around” with a handgun on Tuesday and it discharged accidentally.  Lee died from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

As of Friday no charges have been brought, the report states.

University High School students were on Winter Break last week, but teachers and counselors from Common Ground Sanctuary were on hand Friday in case students or staff wanted to stop in and talk.  School resumed Monday and support was there then as well.
