Affirmations Offers Daily Free HIV and STD Testing

Affirmations, metro Detroit’s community center for lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender people and their allies, has partnered with Oakland County Health Division, AIDS Partnership Michigan and Michigan AIDS Coalition to offer daily HIV and STD testing for adults and youth at the center. Testing is free, confidential and anonymous and is conducted by trained and certified staff.
“Expanding free HIV and STD testing services with our strategic Health and Wellness partners is key to our desire to 
recommit the state’s largest LGBT community center to efforts to ending the spread of HIV/AIDS among the most vulnerable in our community”, said Johnny Jenkins, Affirmations’ Director of Programs.
HIV and Syphilis testing will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6pm-9pm and will be conducted by Michigan AIDS Coalition. They will also offer youth specific HIV testing on 2nd, third and fourth Fridays from 7:30pm-9:00pm.
HIV individual and couples testing will take place every Thursday from 5:30pm-8pm and on Saturdays from 1pm-2:30pm and will be conducted by AIDS Partnership Michigan. They will also offer youth specific testing on the 1st Friday of every month.
HIV, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia and Trichomonaiasis 
testing will take place every 2nd Tuesday of the month from 6pm-9pm and will be conducted by Oakland County Health Division.
