Opportunities to Learn About the Lawraylon-leaks-may-thank-you

There are a few presentations these next couple of weeks to educate people on legal topics.

On Monday, Feb. 18 at the Ferndale Public Library, Attorney Lisa Schmidt will present “Straight Talk on Gun Control.”  Schmidt does presentations each month on various legal topics.  Learn more at her website http://schmidtlawservices.com/.  The presentation begins at 7pm and is free.

dinos02sidelogoAlso on Monday, Feb. 18, the ACLU is presenting a film called “The War on Kids” at the Main Art Theatre in Royal Oak  (118 N. Main Street, Royal Oak).  The film shows how fear and control have affected public education.

On Tuesday, Feb. 19 The Legal Aid Defender Association will give a free presentation on how to sue in small claims court.  The free workshop goes from 3:30pm-5:30 pm at The Ferndale Public Library.  More info can be found at http://www.ferndale.lib.mi.us/.

On Wed, Feb 27 The ACLU will present a program about Juvenile Justice at the Royal Oak Public Library (222 E. 11 Mile, Royal Oak), discussing what happens when kids get caught up in the justice system.  For more information check out their Facebook event at https://www.facebook.com/events/342389759209756/?ref=22.
